Subject: LITTLE SPONGE: FOR HIRE!!

While Sponge Babe hit the food store this evening, little Sponge + I slid out on the upper deck w/ the muzzleloader + a Primos Bleat'n Heat w/ about 45 minutes of daylight left. I showed him how to work the call + w/in 20 minutes he had a doe + a fawn at the fence 20yds. from us...he managed to sit FAIRLY still for a 5 yr. old + soon 2 other large does showed up. He couldn't understand why I couldn't shoot a doe as it is bucks only 'til Monday....we waited until dark as they fed but the BIG 12 pointer never showed up....maybe this coming week! Had a blast w/ him + look forward to taking him into the woods w/ me.....[:praise:] [:sun:]

Sponge, I too took my 4 year old fishing with me today. My son is just to darn good or lucky however you want to see it LOL but he caught his second fish this afternoon but this time he could not even turn the reel handle once as we hooked onto a 35 pounder at 48.5 X 24.5 definatly the fatest under 50 I have ever seen. His average now is set at 47.75 not bad for his age LOL. I do have to get him hooked into some smaller fish next year so he can reel them in all by himself. Even with the leash tied onto him I believe he would of been swimming in 42 degree water. [:sun:]

Gave him a "tubby" earlier this evening....I was sitting there thinking how it used to take him 5 minutes to slide from one end of the tub to the other + now he is the same length....funny how they grow so fast! Hope I can find some fish that we don't have to reel in w/ 2 fingers![:0] [:sun:]

I have raised 4 boys, and can tell you there is NOTHING better than their First Muskie, First Buck, and First Girlfriend( NO, Slamr, innocent kisses are all they tell Dad about), and that is the truth!!

'Course, the Muskies and Bucks will rarely break their heart, and the girls will, repeatedly!!! But that, my friend, is a lesson in life...

Treasure the moment, and be assured, as the years flow by, and the boy becomes a man, the memories are like video tapes of the mind, and can be replayed over, and over, and over...and my ladyfriend asked me one time during the hunting season, when I was deep in thought...what are you thinking about?

How does a man ever explain that?[:)] [;)]
