All - plan to fish for musky on the St. Lawrence later in the summer/early fall. Mostly plan to throw 1 - 2oz spinner baits. Should I go with a Tranx 300 or 400, and what gear ratio for these blade baits? Also, would 65lb braid be sufficient, I.e. too light or too heavy? New to this so looking for some advice - thanks!

For that size baits, the 300A may be a better option, or even a 200/200HG. A 7 gear 300 at 40 IPT will more than likely be too fast a retrieve, and blow out smaller spinners, so the slower 5.8:1 would be a better choice there. Sixty five lb braid would be fine for what you've described.
