Posts: 357 Location: Long Prairie, Minnesota | Just wondering where everyone prefers to stay when up fishing LOTW. Our group has stayed at Sportsmans North and Walsh's Bay Store Camp on Oak Island and Spruce Island resort all of which were fantastic. Walsh's being my personal favorite.

Posts: 1392 Location: Brighton CO. | The only time I've been to Lake Of The Woods we stayed at Red Wing Lodge for the 1993 Chapter Challunge and that is in the Sabaskong Bay by Morson.

Posts: 752 | Been to a bunch but the nicest place I stayed at was Witch Bay Camp. Less pressured water than the angle and the resort is first class... I stayed at one on an island that chose to power off the generator at 10:00 every night. That was far and away the worst but they were nice people so I'm not going to drag them through the mud but its a question I now ask every time I go to a new to me resort.

Posts: 20218 Location: oswego, il | I've stayed at sunset lodge on oak Island. Great place to stay and very good food. I suspect you will get as many places as posts.

Posts: 219 | On the east side stayed at Red Wing Lodge, Mylies and Tamarack, never had an issue at any of them, on the west side camped at Youngs Bay a few times and my favorite place and second home will always be Walsh's Baystore Camp on Oak Island been going there 2 times a year for about 24 years & Frank & Laura are the best host and Frank can fix almost anything if something breaks on your boat Darren

Posts: 3 | I recently stayed at Tamarack. Cabin was nice, people were all friendly and food was good. Fishing was a little tough but would go back again.

Posts: 7 | We stayed at a lot of lodges, and by far the best one is Duck Bay Lodge, the food the service is fantastic, every morning you leave, your lunch, ice and what ever drinks you want for the day are at the boat, there is always 2 people to send you off in the morning and 2 people to help you dock when you get back, food is great and as much as you can eat, by far the best place we have ever stayed.

Posts: 6 | Lotsa good places, lotsa customer oriented owners. Easier to document the places to avoid. I like the location of Tamarack Island Lodge and Todd is a great host Edited by plugginalong 9/4/2024 4:12 PM

Posts: 250 | I second what Darren and Dan said, Bay Store Camp. This year Frank kept me up and running by literally making parts for my trolling motor. Laura and him have always been great hosts. I too have been going there around 25 years. Steve

Posts: 9 Location: New Berlin, WI | I have to put a plug in for Grassy Narrows Lodge in Miles Bay. We’ve stayed other places in Sab Bay, but like the more remote location at Grassy Narrows. Great fishing that way with a little less pressured water. Wayne is a great guy and very helpful and Maria is awesome in accommodating any requests.
