| Just found out a distant friend of mine has a cabin on Yellow Lake near Danbury/Webster Wisc
Wondering how the musky population is. I’m used to musky fishing northern MN lakes.
Any info on numbers/size/and musky fishing pressure would be much appreciated.

Location: NW WI | Hit it once late fall as a "to fish while Diver Duck scouting" endeavor. So very little time with lines in the water. I vaguely know a successful tournament fisherman that pounds it. I'll convey what he told me: "Get off the Eastern break lines you'll likely see Walleye guys stacked on (he was right). Go deep 25ft, find the ciscos and you'll find the musky. Jig retrieving or slow cranking Swimmin Dawgs at 8-15ft deep, creepers or Hog Wabblers are his choice bait, not much for veg but where there is -a small single blade bucktail or spinner bait will get ya the little ones."
From my short stint on the water, I can tell you it's going to take some time to start to figure it out. Shes sandy and depth doesn't equal jack in regards to rock/veg. Good luck and swap your suckers for nightcrawlers, the sturgeon are quite abundant with plenty of size. They'll makes ya jump and burn in a bait and cast at a wake in heartbeat more than once. |

Location: oswego, il | The state says Muskies are abundant but in the musky lakes PDF the lake is rated A1 which is for big fish and not necessarily abundant like the lakes that have smaller average size.

The state says Muskies are abundant but in the musky lakes PDF the lake is rated A1 which is for big fish and not necessarily abundant like the lakes that have smaller average size.
Can you say which site has the type of lake breakdown that you posted? I've found some PDF's in searches, but not one that looks like your screenshot. Thanks. |

| I know the late reply I live 5 miles away from yellow lake I fish it often. Numbers are better DNR stocked it about 8 years ago, the musky are about 40" now. Always a chance of catching the 50". They are in the lake. The lake turns very green in late summer. Any shoreline is good, have turned musky on all of the shorelines catching them on everything from blades, surface, dawgs, to jerk baits. |

Sorry I did not see this earlier. Search Wisconsin musky lakes and you can download the PDF. Lakes are listed in alphabetical order by county. |

| I'm revisiting this thread. Can anyone tell me a couple things:
1 - How wide/tall is the bridge opening from Yellow to Little Yellow? Just curious what sized boat would fit through there on a normal year?
2 - How about up river from Little Yellow a few miles? Is there any no wake or is it deep/wide enough to run wide open?

| Took my Ranger 620 under the bridge and into Little Yellow with no problem...Did not try the river... pretty nice population on muskies...

Location: NW WI | I haven't been in little yellow or the river there, water flows out of little yellow lake there by the way. I think the bridge was recently rebuilt between Big and Little to accommodate taller craft, I've seen pontoons make it through. As far as the River goes I checked airial photos and I'd guarantee that's no wake navigation. I'd also question whether it's worth your time. There's definitely fish in the river, but looking at the amount of docks along it, I'd have to assume it gets pounded. |
