Location: Monroe WI | I am starting to make spinnerbaits and bucktails, but I am having problems bending the wire to make the twists. Are there any tools that would make this easy. Any advice will help. Thanks in advance |

Location: Musky Tackle Online, MN | I just started making my own leaders and bucktails and have found that the Boggs Tacklemaker works very well. I also use a round nose pliers and needle nose for a few finishing touches on the bucktails. |

Get yourself a wire bender, you can find them in all the catalogs and they are worth every penny. They make perfect bends with little effort and every bucktail will be the same. |

| Some of the wirebenders are not rated for heavy guage wire like the .61
and up that I've been using. A pair of round nose pliers, which are
differently from regular needle nose pliers, will do the trick.....
Good luck,

Location: Ashalnd,Ky | Hi Guys,
I Own littlebear Lure Co. We make a lot of in-line bucktails and many other type of spinners for that matter..
We now use in house benders..but we started off using The Bogges bender
and the Hagen bender.. We found the bogges bender does a great job for the front eye end bend on an in-line bucktail.. but baits over 5 inches foul on the bender when you try to make the bucktail end bend to install the hook.. We used the Hagen bender for this task for a while.. we now have made a bogges type bender that will except a 12 inch inline bait without fouling..we use .051 and .061 wire on our heavest baits..
this requires a special die set..
The previous poster said something about .61 wire.. I think this was a typo .61 you know that .50 is half a inch dia.
good luck
Trimmer
