Dad snagged this adjacent to a large flowage tree snag on the NW side of Lake Winter Sawyer County. It was just 30yds north of a popular submerged cattail island. Just thought it'd be neat if someone on here remembers loosing it.

As you can see, it was a Mepps Musky Killer. Flowage green, originally with a single black tail done for the tournament. I know that tail well. That is not my bait, but I know the baits and color well. I found some of the old prototype blades that I had to approve the color as an all flowage green blade had not been done before. Cool to see, thanks for sharing. Brings back memories from another lifetime.

Question I have for other members here, does anyone have a gold and black Giant Killer that was done for Perry Smith's funeral? I can't find the one I had. Many on here are too young to remember who Perry Smith is though.

I knew Perry well from my days of the RVP of the Colorado Chapter of muskie INC, (on the tail end of my term Perry was President), a friend of mine went to the funeral told me of the lure give away. Here's my Perry Smith story, Perry lived on a house boat on Lake Of the Woods in the summer and on Friday nights he would drive around in his fishing boat watching where people would fish, Saturday was turnover day and on Friday night everyone would go back and try one more time for that big fish they had spotted. He would make mental notes of the spots and go back and work those spots and find big fish and catch some of them.

I've got a Perry Smith Mepps. I did not know him. Did some work for his wife and we got talking about fishing and she gave me one for a tip. Still got it.

I also have one of the Perry Smith Mepps. We were given it to us at his funeral. Good man. Kept mine in the package and have it hanging on my wall.
