| Looking at everyone's dirty dozen, I see many of you listed 10 " Jakes but very few 8" Jakes. Is there that much difference in action between the 2. The one time I threw a larger Jake I did notice a bit more roll but what are your impressions? |

Location: lansing, il | i usally troll jakes i don know if its my imagination or the way it looks because its smaller but it appears the 8" has a tighter wobble to it than the big ones. i usally start with the 10" and only go down to the 8" if im not getting any action. as far as casting i prefer the 9" grandma, its a little easier than the 10" jake. i also cast the 8" jake if im not seeing anything on the grandmas. mixing it up and letting the fish tell you what they want seems to work best for me.

Location: north central wisconsin | I love the 8" Jakes almost equally to the tens. Not fair to put them in the same category, as they are totally different. The 8's go so much deeper on the cast than the tens, and have a totally different look when twitched. The 6" and 10" are relatively the same lure shape wise, and the 8 is a shortened 10"(same size lip and depth of lure). Use em both, and you won't be sorry! |

Location: W. PA. | I'm not a fan of the 8" jakes. I bought 3 of them about a year ago and every one ran to the right, you could bend the line tie as far as you wanted to the left and they would not straighten out. I sent them back to Musky Mania and they promptly replaced them but the new ones did the same exact thing. If you wanted to use them just for twitching they would be fine, but who can resist trolling such a productful lure?

| I do well casting the 6" and 8" Jakes and I use the 10" Jakes mostly for trolling. I can't wait for the 13" Jake to come out which they say will be later this year or next year!

Location: north central wisconsin | I love the 6's too. I got my second biggest fish of 03 on one in May. They are great for twitching and I feel have a better swimming action than many of the other 6" twitchers out there. They really act just like the old 6" grannies. Though, 8's and 10's are in use alot more for me, the 6's are good second or third lures through in many places. I also take off all three hooks on the 6's and replace the front and rear with upsized Eagle claw 774's or VMC's and Bucher rings, leaving the middle hook off. This helps hold the big girls. I do this to the 8's too.
