Posts: 51 | Do you use hatchet blades on bucktails and/ or spinnerbaits for just a different vibration over conventional bladed ( colorado, indiana, or willows )?

Posts: 572 Location: Germantown, WI | I have a few that I like to throw. Not sure if it really matters, but I like knowing I might be throwing something just a little different than someone else is… I also like the idea of the small hatchet blades on back end of jerbaits for added flash… I picked up two different ones in last few months and excited to give them a shot this season…

Posts: 527 Location: NW WI | Well something about the frequency from the tandem makes Bowfin HATE it. Not sure if it's defensive, offensive, or curiosity. But I've been excited multiple times watching follows come in and than see its giant Bowfin. They never hit it though. They have chased other blades but nowhere near the amount of times the tandem has. Not sure who's but I grabbed some tandem and triple arm bass sized spinnerbaits this winter to see what happens there. I love Bowfin, such a neat fish.

Posts: 61 | I build bucktails and i started using them a few years ago. They got a great vibration. If you go big and do double 8s on a bait it feels like 12s. They got a ton of flash and great vibrations

Posts: 1399 Location: Brighton CO. | I'll have to buy a couple blades and build a bucktail and save one for my spinnerbaits.

Posts: 20219 Location: oswego, il | I made one a long time ago a single and not the magnum sized hatchet. I wasn't impressed with it it stayed closer to the shaft than a willow. Maybe the larger sizes are much different. I do like them on a spinnerbait.

Posts: 1247 Location: Walker, MN | We've caught fish on the Musky Safari Flashy Serial Killer, letting them helicopter down an outside weedline. It has a big, slow thump when doing this that you can feel. The strikes are jarring. I don't believe I've ever thrown a bucktail spinner with a hatchet blade.

Posts: 536 | Ive only used them on a bucktail and havent had great luck getting them to run very good. Hard time getting them to start, constantly pumping the rod ect. I like the idea of them though lol
