Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota | I’m curious to see other people’s experiences on this. Over the winter of 2022 I bought 2 lexa tws’s, 2 lexa hd’s, 1 prorex, and had a 300 hd that I had used the previous season. The high speed hd’s anti reverse went out in 2 hours of throwing a 1.5lbs bulldawg on lake st Clair, only had made probably 50 casts with it prior to that trip. By the end of august both tws had the anti reverse break after using them for blades/medium rubber/crank baits all season, as well as me ripping the handles off on hooksets (more so user error). By October the lower speed HD had the handle seize up and become again completely unusable. The prorex is still working great but I only used it for small blades and smaller topwaters. The 300 is still usable but does sound quite grindy one the retrieve. Has anyone else had this bad of luck with diawa stuff or am I just horrible on my gear? I have had a tranx 400 and 500 that are on their 3rd seasons of use and have never had a problem, so if those have lasted that long than I can’t be too brutal on my stuff. The diawa stuff, especially the tws and prorex, are the nicest reels I’ve ever used when they were working but if other people have had similar experiences than I’m about ready to give up on diawa as a whole and just go back to shimano. Hopefully it’s just me being an idiot with me gear and other guys have found them more reliable, I’d appreciate any other input on it |

Location: Brighton CO. | Muskies and Muskie lures can be hard on reels. Buy the best you can afford, I've ruined a few sub par reels over the years even ruined a few throwing standard sized lures (like a Bobbie or Suick) A lot of brands I've not fished with but after a lifetime of fishing when it comes the Muskie reels I'm a Shimano or System 13 guy. |

Location: Brighton CO. | I still have a ABU 5500C for 1979, but destroyed 6000C, 6500 C3 from the early 90's with little use. Once they went away from the dual casting knobs they were done. |

| Have two Daiwa reels bought in the last 2 years and have not had any issues. One for rubber, one for large bucktails. Maybe I am just lucky. And stuff can happen with any reel. Last year took a guy out to help become familiar with the chain I live on. He had a new Tranx 400 but when he hooked a fish, the drag didn't work properly and I have read that happens from time to time with Tranx.
Early next month I will be taking those two plus an Abu in for cleaning and a check up at Matt's. He is an authorized Daiwa repair center, will ask him what kind of issues he is seeing with them.

Location: SW Ohio | Running 4-5 Lexa 400HSL-P's and 3 Lexa300 HSL-p's for about 3 years. All have been good reels with no issues. Take a bit to clean, though. Ran 50-100 lbs Power Pro and now 65-80 Suffix. Throw a lot of small stuff but have had no issues with double 10's, Bulldawgs, mag medussas or dying' dawgs. Even threw pounders a bit but they wear me out quick. |

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota | Different topic than the original question I posted but has anyone used the newer abu toro rocket? I’ve heard a bunch of good stuff about the beast and assumed the rocket would be the same thing with a different paint job. Would definitely be curious how that would compare to a high speed tranx 400. I love the tranx I own but the big benefit I found with the diawa stuff was how much further it casted which made a difference for stuff like bucktails. Might consider one to replace the high speed tws I had break |

| I've had one for a couple years now. It's not on an XH rod, so I don't throw heavy stuff with it, and I don't use it for big blades (10 or up). But I absolutely love it for what I use it for. Casts a mile, and you can burn baits. |
