| Well the 2004 Ohio Muskie Show has come and gone. The success of this years show proves even more of the broad extensions that our muskie world is covering. This show certainly held is own in comparison with any other first year show that I have been part of and did much better that a few shows that have popped up in the last few years. It was great for the northern guys to come down and try to learn and understand the completely different way of fishing that this large muskie area does. Also the mid west guys now have a first had look at how the muskie guys from the north do things that eventually will become common in the mid west. Although we all chase the same fish many regions seem to have individual ways of approaching there fish. Even though the mid west had the first big muskie show debut last year at Pittsburgh thanks to Andy. This year Ross and the guys at Central Illinois had a chance to extent the coverage further into central and western Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. This show gave Kentucky muskie anglers a chance to see more of the muskie world that distance had keep them from in past years. For more reasons than just a muskie show close to home for me, I think the expansion of education to our great sport is endless. This type of in person education will certainly further benefit all muskie regions across the range of this of the King of Freshwater. Northern muskie fisherman will learn how the tremendous number of anglers this region has fishing its very small number of waters that hold this great fish, and their great results. Our range of muskie fisherman can how be exposed to the tactics and techniques of the guys from the north. Manufactureers will now have a better knowledge of the needs of the mid west muskie angler...It’s all good…
My hats off to Ross, his wife Katie and Katie Nyhus and all the others that made this show a big success and benefit to our area. I am looking forward to being part of this great show for years to come.
