Ice on the lakes this time of year is a good thing, Ice on the roads well not so good. Last week we had a little snow storm dropped a couple inches here and there. In Denver only a inch but a bridge going into down town got some ice and there was a 100 car pile up during the morning commute.

Most ponds and shallow bays on smaller lakes are frozen around the Bemidji area as well.

Big pond behind my house here in the Twin Cities, was open yesterday, iced over this morning. The bay on my neighborhood lake, where the launch is, was mostly ice today.

Drove to Asheville today, there was snow on the ground above 3500'. Didn't reach 40 on the Tennessee side yesterday..

Cold all week here in the front range of Colorado with a inch or two of snow last night. I'm happy I like winter.

I'm out near Sterling right now, no snow here just cold. Will be in Estes Park tomorrow.
