Posts: 280 Location: US | The people buying them are probably the same people that were shelling out $100 for a dadson. I have no problem catching fish on new beavers.

Posts: 267 | Howdy, Which boards? I have six of the original size and six of the smaller ones that have never been cast that I’ve been using as ballast on the boat. Take care, Ruddiger

Posts: 419 Location: MN | I don't think it matters much. The bait works the same in the water and in my brief experience the fish respond similarly. The first time out with a synthetic I caught a 48. IMO, the hair hype is the same irrational combination of exclusivity and nostalgia you see with a lot of other baits. As far as I'm concerned, it's a good thing - any hair beavers you might have have appreciated in value 2x!

Posts: 224 Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota | I have only ever thrown the synthetic beavers and a black mid size beaver with a orange tail is my number 1 producing bait so far this year. I don’t know if the hair ones are better but I know the modern ones catch a lot of fish and have great action

Posts: 1415 Location: Brighton CO. | You guy's got me thinking! Went and looked at my two Beaverbaits and I got one of each. I also have one that has a Jitterbug head. The jitterbug is a piece of crap even though it has real Deer hair. I wonder if there's a way to put the real Deer hair on the Jitterbug?
