Location: oswego, il | The October full moon rises when the sun sets. You would think that would be a great thing. Over the years I've had some of my worst musky fishing having never caught a fish during that time. Last night I had my first ever multi-species skunk in my little boat. The October full moon rise at sunset has been a death kiss for me. |

Location: Contrarian Island | I've had a lot more success in MN with the moon up than in WI. No idea why but definitely noticeable

Location: Brighton CO. | I looked out the window yesterday looking at the full moon and wishing I was up north, the full moon of October and September have been good to me. We have some sick family members and others that are just plain old. (thank God they are still going) It's been four years since I've been up north and I think back to all those years of fall trips and the great times and memories. Everyday I think on this date someone caught a Muskie or we saw a wolf or we went this place or did that. Last night I read the September and October chapters of time on the water. I was October 9th that Dick Rose guided clients to 42 and 31 pound Muskies back in 1979. |

| Thanks for posting....I too had high hopes for the Northwoods this weekend.
Had a low 40" lazy follow that turned off at the start of the 8.
Suckers went entirely unmolested and only an unremarkable Northern "saved" the skunk.
Seemed to be a common theme among many/most.
At least the colors were spectacular.

| My day yesterday afternoon was also uneventful. A little while before sunset, something grabbed the sucker I had out took it down 3 or 4 feet, but by the time I got back to the rod the big slip bobber was up again. When I finally reeled it in, the hook on the left side was pulled out. That was the extent of my action.
However, a neighbor who doesn't fish a lot told me yesterday afternoon was the best day in 38 years he has fished the chain. Some walleye, including a 27, couple northern and 11 small mouth, the smallest of which was around 14". Less than 4 hours on the water. Said he had never had small mouth action anywhere near that. All in 3 to 4 feet of water. |

| My muskie fishing didn't go great, but I did catch my first sturgeon Saturday night/ Sunday morning. And saw quite a few of them being reeled in on other boats. |

| Largemouth bass fishing in that Oct moon a few tears ago made me give up fall musky fishing. I had 10 ,8,7,6 pounder in Illinois with 2 of them in 10 minutes one night.I believe it should work for musky. |

Nice. What does a cat like that weigh?
Weight calculator has it at 21.75lbs. what's really neat about blues are they readily eat lures. Trolling for them on this lake is very popular. Super shad raps! They fight like a striper. They hit you think your line broke. Reel and catch up they are on a run and they jet off with big runs. You have to give chase with the trolling motor. They really only bulldawg like a channel near the boat. |
