Posts: 323 | For Ft Myers April may be a little early. I don’t believe it gets going there until the end of April into May. I have fished with Captain Matt Mitchell out of St James City. I have a couple trips booked the end of April in the Marco Island area with Jon Sebolt at SPF Outfitters. Fishing out of Marco you can fish the 10,000 Island area down to Everglades City. Lots of resident fish that don’t migrate. You also have more opportunities to get back in the mangroves if it’s get windy. I can’t wait to get down there again for them, it’s been several years. Good luck!!!

Posts: 26 Location: Foley, Mn | April, is hit or miss depending on the water temp, one cold front will shut them down. May and June are much better months as the migration is going at that time. If your set on April look at going out of Marco Island or Goodland as the 10,000 Islands area & the Everglades have resident fish. Since Covid started I've done 5 trips (10 days) with Jason Hammernick 612-209-0608. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Posts: 333 Location: SE Wisc | Tarpon Coast Fishing Charters with Captain Brock. Was there last April and landed a 190# with him as well as a few others and a delicious cobia that we took home. He fishes Charlotte Harbor at that time of year, and stays away from crowds. Hard core angler for sure, a former Army Ranger, and tarpon is all he does. Google the web site. Also, he fishes with spin gear, not muskie tackle, which I like.
