| I layed on my back and looked up into the console and couldnt see or feel where the water is coming from...how can i find out if its the speedo or pressure tubing?...Is this something I might be able to do on my own or will I have to take it to the shop? Thanks for your reply! Ben | |||

Posts: 373 Location: Huber Heights, Ohio | The main thing to check is that the hose is on the fitting. If it is, locate the water pickup for your speedometer, it will be on the front edge of the lower unit. Have a friend use a water hose and spray water at high pressure into the inlet, get under the console and look for water. Repeat this for the water pressure gauge. There should be a connector that connects the hose from the engine to the hose that runs into the boat. Seperate the two hoses and spray water into the hose that goes into the boat. Hopfully you will find the leak. If the hose wasn't on the fitting, slide it back on all the way to the gauge and put a small zip tie on the hose to secure it to the fitting. Location: Minneapolis, MN | I had this happen on my 2000 Triton. Spooked me out while going 60mph to have a stream of water peeing on my leg. | ||

| I like disconnection the speed hose and point at the drivers lap so that when he gets going ends up with a nice stream of water in his lap. | |||
