Hi,
just wondering if anyone knows how many muskies they have caught in there lifetime?
It would be cool to see what the stats are for peoples totals and sizes of muskies those fish are. So how many over 30, 40, and 50.
Curious to see total lifetime numbers with relation to size.
later
Kly
I know I am under a 100 total fish but I know I am close and need to figure out how close. My average has to be in the upper thirty inch range, with none over 47".

My total is about 35. 4 over 40". I think 6-8 under 30". Lot's of 35"-36" fish. Last year I saw more fish follow to the boat then in any previous year..or even 2 year span. Missed about 4, caught only one. Got to change something in my figure 8's because they would follow but not hit, except the caught one. The missed fish all hit away from the boat, between 15' and about 50'away..Seeing them hit was my problem with missing them, if I had been looking away when they hit I would have had a better chance of hooking those 4.

I lost count, I would have to look at my logs, been fishing muskies since '94 and have boated over 800 that's including clients in the last 4 years. Within those are a stagering number of fish over 50 inches.  ;-)

In 18 years I have over 700 with 24 over 50" and three that I feel confident were 40# or better (LxLxG/800). I'm not sure on the number over 30" or 40" my all time average is around 37".

I may be missing a season but I have 83 fish total or there abouts. I never kept track of size but most were in the 30 something category.

I been at it for 15 years. However, i been going hard for the past 3-4 years. I have caught approsimately 200 fisah over 30" myself, with approximately 50 over 40", and 3 over 50. 49 X 26 and 50 x28 has been my heaviest, 52" is longest.

Overall Ive probably had approximately 500 fish over 30" come aboard when including partners. I couldnt guess how many 40's. 7 over 50.

I have fished waters from east to south, Cave Run, Green River Lake, Buckhorn, Licking River, Brooksville, Saltfork, Clearfork, Ceasar Creek, St Clair, Chautauqua, Niagra River, Georgian Bay/French River, Webster and Kawarthas.

Crippler, those are some serious numbers... impressive. I was learning how to ride a bike back in 1975, and of course how to catch a bluegill.

I now have 65 over 48" in my rig. I have no idea what number total have hit the net. My guess at an average size would be uper 30's. I had a couple years at 184 and 183, and a few close to that including client fish. I also had years where fishing was at a premium, and less than 30 muskies hit the net. It is pretty simple, really. I fished  as  much in 6 months as some do in a lifetime, some years. I live in Muskie country, and fish great water in Canada. I am a lucky man!

Time on the water, plain and simple. I fish where there are lots of nice fish. It's going to happen, just a matter of hitting the water. I remember a thread where Doug J gave his totals, and the big fish over 48 were in the 175 range back then, if I remember correctly. Fish hard, and the net WILL get wet.

September 2001 I fished Crow Lake for 9 days and Lake of the Woods for 4 days. I caught 5 muskies in the upper 30" range. I saw loads of muskies (biggest one about 48" I think) but for some reason I didn't manage to put a hook in them. It was still a great experience. Muskie and (euro)pike have got a lot of similarities but also a lot of differences. I hope to be back as soon as possible.

I feel foolish for even posting this, but my total is now at four, the biggest being 46.5 inches. As Steve mentioned, time on the water is key. 2004 will be the year to MAKE time on the water for me.

Over the last 12 years I have had around 1000 in the boat with cleints with 14 over 50. My lunge count is 544 over 30 inches and 4 over 50 inches with 99% of them coming from Kentucky waters. I only get around 40-80 fish a year myself with cleints getting that many or more. The last couple of years average out to about 2.5 muskies 0ver 30 inches a trip.

Good Fishin

My total is around 110 in the 5 years of doing this. Probably another 40 or so for others in my boat. I only have managed 1-50"er, but have a good number of 40-45" fish, probably around 50 or so. The rest average from 34-39", with a couple of upper 40's mixed in.

This past summer was my 5th year. I don't have a ton of fish, but I was lucky enough to get my first 30 pounder this summer on LOTW.

Only 46.5", but fatter that Cady. It made all the time on the water worth while.

I'm currently at 191 with 79 of those over 40". I've yet to crack 50". But I have two at 49.5".

157 of my fish are from MN waters and average 38.4". The remaining 34 are from WI waters and average 35.3".

Hi Guys, didnt keep track in the beginning as we didnt go very much. In the last 6 years we have 176 Muskies and over 900 pike. Biggest Muskies were 44,45,46.5 and a pair of 48" fish with no pictures. No 50" fish yet but raised about 20 50" class fish last year and lost one at the boat side that was all of 40 lbs. My Guide Log has us at 15 fish over 40" and 87 fish over 30" . We dont get to the big fish waters much but our stocked lakes are growing bigger fish every year. Tons of 38,,39 and 40's are there aand it just keeps getting better. Our average fish is about 36" 12 to 16 lbs. with a 42 " fish reaching near 20 lbs. and one we caught over that weight. This year with our new boat we will be on better water all year,29 Muskies in 2003 and over 100 pike and the best thing is we get them on lures we make. Check out Fishall Lures, Kingfisher

Including my clients fish, I have averaged 73 fish a year, the last 10 years. I don't have a running average size but not to many under 36" on the Big V.

My best year guiding was 2002 with
92 muskies, 11 over 50", including
2 53's and 3 52's. I had one trip with 28 follows and 8 fish boated.
All of them were over 42".

I'm not sure how many I caught in the 70's and 80's because I didn't keep a log back in those days.
