I'm looking to buy a new 7'6" rod this winter.I own a Figrig and love it! But I have also heard alot of good things about the All star rods. I know this maybe apples to oranges but are the figs worth the extra 60 bucks?I guess what I am saying what is the best bang for the buck.I'll spend the extra money if need be but would rather not. thx

I perfer my 8' All Star over my 7'6" Diamondback if that tells you anything. If anyone knows of a better stick for the money, let me in, I'll get one.

Hey Plitzz,
Good Luck!!! I don't own an all star but I have pitched two of other peoples and messed with them in the stores, sweet rods. I own a fig rig and my friend just bought a 7'6"(not sure if heavy or mh?) but it is awesome as well. I think the only way to figure out what one you want is to put them side by side. That however is a difficult task due to the fact that most retailers don't carry both. Maybe at the milwaukee show?
Smokeys has a pretty good price on the figs and I think the dif. in price would only be about 30bucks.
like I said good luck, but I am sure you will be happy with either one!

I have fished both, and like both. Hold both in your hands at the same time, and mess around with them. The decision will then be easier.

I own both and am happy with both. In my opinion, I think the Fig is the better rod. I like the actions a touch better and the Figs seem to be lighter. After a long day, that can make a big difference.

I am happy with both but prefer the Fig.

All Stars at R&H were 120. Smokey's had the Figs for 165 or so depending on model.
