You drive three hours out of West Virginia (against doctor's orders) with a broke neck just so your buddy will take you to Columbus to the muskie show.
OK, so that won't fit on the t-shirt. No matter, Mauser crossed the border Friday and stayed over at my house, Saturday morning we went up to Columbus to the first Ohio muskie show. The show seemed to be well attended and MuskieFirst members were in abundance. RAZE, TomyV, Manitou Dan, BruceKy, RiverMusky were all roaming the bait displays. Tony Grant gave an excellent presentation to a full house, and Mike Hulbert and Muskygirl were kept busy at his booth fielding questions and selling his Producer series baits. Cady was in a boot next to Gregg Thomas and the Badfish video folks, we got to meet Laura and Ty, and I introduced CJ to one of his local long-time heros, Bill Crane. West Va. lure makers were well-represented with Jimmy Willison's Willy baits and Ray and Speed's WidowMakers; there was quite a Hughes River gathering, too. Smutly Dog baits was there, too, dang he makes some big baits! Lax Taxidermy had an impressive display of mounts. I got to meet Capt. Larry Jones and finally got a set of International Guide Raffle tickets.

My thanks to Ross Wagner, Muskies, Inc., the Buckeye hall of Fame Cafe, and all the presenters and salespersons who made this day so memorable. CJ called later last night, he made it home safe and sore. We'd spent Friday night watching muskie porn, the Badfish DVD was absolutely awesome and me wife was very patient with us cheering on the fish, the captors, and the baits. m

Nice to finally meet you Mikie. I had a blast at the show! It was almost like heaven, being surrounded by all that Musky stuff. It was also pretty cool to see that many Pro's in one place. This was my first Musky show and I hope to attend more. I will definitely see you at the Cave outing though.

Mauser is one tough cat!  Nice to meet you sir.

Thanks Mark,
Feeling better than a few weeks ago, but still not quite up to par.
Walked down to the river today and fished for some stocked trout. I could tell that I've still got some healing to do, it felt good to feel something pull besides my neck. Planning on making it to the Cave in march, hope to see everyone there.

Hi Mauser,
Look forward to seeing you out in WV, sounds like we're sharing a cabin with Mikie, right?

I'll bring along several of my upper-back gadgets, it's really really tricky working on stretching and muscle spasms in the neck & shoulders without making the spasms more severe.

Anyway, glad to hear you're OK!! But you're gonna make me look bad whining about being sore, cuz I haven't had a major injury to compare to yours!

See you there,
Papa Joe

Don't worry Papa Joe, I'll try to keep the crying down to a sniffle or 2 . I can always kick Mikie to ease the pain or try some "mountain medicine", if any is available. Anyway, it sure will be good to see you again. Looking forward to it and "Let the good times ROLL"
