Posts: 1261 | I bought Lot 27 of the MMC auction because I really like the funky paint job on that lure. This one is ridiculously cool! P.S. Any tips on using the bait I bought, would be much appreciated.

Posts: 653 Location: Moses Lake, WA | TCESOX - I'm not sure what lot 27 looked like, does it have an aluminum lip with three holes and one clevis pin? If so you need to try each position by detaching the split ring and moving the clevis pin to the next position. At each hole position change the boat speed and observe the action of the lure. The lure will run at different depths with different actions in each of the hole positions. If you like the action from the bill tip position but it's running too shallow just add an inline weight if you're trolling.

If you look at the category directly above the Basement Baits, it is the auction thread, and you can see the various lots. The bait is green color with orange belly. Metal spade shaped lip with a single position.

Posts: 653 Location: Moses Lake, WA | TCESOX - I think I made that lure a couple of years ago - seems like it's late getting to auction. With a lip that narrow it probably won't hunt and with only one line tie position all you can do is test it as a function of boat speed. It's also not going to run very deep unless you troll with an inline weight. Gary

Posts: 1261 | Thanks Gary. I was debating with myself whether I wanted to fish it, or display it. I'll probably play around with it a little bit, but am leaning toward display, as the paint job warrants it.
