| I have a gen 3 revo winch sitting around for the most part collecting dust. The reel is super smooth but at the current 5.4 to1 gear ratio, it is really slow for what I'm thinking about doing to it. Is it possible that I could swap the gears out and install 6.4 to 1 gears, turning it into a nice lightweight, 6.9oz. downsized pike/musky reel? The 6.4 to 1 gears would make it a little faster for small bucktails, rattle baits, and small 6" minnow baits. What's also nice about the winch, it is a "true" 200 size reel with a larger line capacity than a standard revo, which gives me the option of using 65lb. braid or 20lb. mono. |

Location: Western U.P. | Parts are pretty interchangeable for Revo's within the same model (frame) family. Mat from Mat's Reel Repair has done a lot of customizing on my Abu's for some time. He'd be a good source to have the work done, or get you the correct parts if you DIY. |
