Hey guys. I have a omen musky rod and it is whipped. It’s rated 2-6 oz but I wouldnt throw over 4 on it(bought it to start to make sure I was in on musky fishing). So I’m replacing the rod. I’m thinking of going with a shock and awe for now and possibly adding a swat later in the season. How is the shock and awe for an all around rod? Brian from chaos was who recommended the shock and awe for this application. I just wanted to see what you guys though before pulling the trigger. I got the musky bug hard and I’m ready to buy nice gear.

#1 I own a competing company, Tackle Industries and we sell rods against Chaos. With that said, I own a few Chaos rods and really like them! Its a great rod for sure and Rick runs a very good company. The Shock and Awe has a really nice loading capacity and casting ability for the blank and really takes a lot of effort out of fishing over a long day. You will like IMO. Good rod for sure!

I cannot really speak on the shock and awe, however, I recently bought a surgical strike from Chaos tackle, haven't got to fish with it yet. I have went grass casting a few times and it seems to be true to the ratings of the rod, you won't regret buying the shock and awe. The rod is very nice quality as well!

I fished with a 9ft SWAT last season and absolutely loved it! Got a Shock and Awe for Christmas that I can't wait to throw that this season too. Chaos rods are top notch, and I would definitely recommend them!

I Have the Swat and 20/20 Shock and Awe. If you want an all around rod I would get the Swat first. I only use the Shock and Awe for rubber baits and the largest of bucktails. With the Swat you can throw smallish/medium sized baits, bucktails up to 10's (though I generally use the S/A for double 10's) and small rubber baits.
