Thinking of picking up another rod. I held a new mojo and I liked it. But at 300 dollars it’s not far off from a legend tournament. I’ve never held one of those. Is it worth a few extra bucks? Looking at an 8’6 heavy. The mojo has that model in telescopic which isn’t mandatory but a nice feature.

An 8'6" mojo should be 180-200 in 1 piece. ???

289-300 at the couple stores I looked. So over 300 with tax. It was the telescopic though.

I’m aware of the prices. The mojo I would buy is a little over 300. Question is is the legend tournament worth a few more bucks and foregoing the telescopic feature I like.

For me, yes. But then, I like full grip too.

Sorry. .maybe I should've directed my reply to the other guy asking about prices..

For what it's worth, I had to go with the Mojo 9' (telescoping to 7'10") being limited by ceiling height in the garage, and rod locker length (8')... I'm very happy with them, and don't regret going that route.

Yes, to me it is worth the extra $100. Legend is made with premium cork, guides and higher grade graphite. Also made in USA vs. Mexico and a 15 year transferable warranty as opposed to 5 year.

The one thing I'll say about the Legends is that if you like a longer rod handles, than make sure you with a legend split grip vs. full cork. The handle from trigger down is much shorter on the full cork.

I currently have both a Mojo 9H Telescopic and the LT Slingblade with the split grip. Among the two, IMO the LT is well worth the extra $100. It a great rod and gets far more use in many more situations.

For what its worth I formerly had a Mojo 86H too (old series, one piece) that was stolen. I preferred it too over current telescopic versions... as an all-purpose rod. My personal take is that the telescopic portion stiffens the rod and adds to blank weight, affecting both loading performance and feel.

I find the Mojo telescopic to be quite useful for rubber... where the extra lure weight helps with loading and the additional stiffness helps on the rip. I use it as a special purpose rod.

Good luck.

I ordered the sling blade split grip. I own one telescopic and I like it but you’re right that it gives the rod a different feel.

I just got the mojo 8’6” heavy and I really like it. I haven’t thrown lures over 4oz with it yet but it feels nice.

Getting concerned that my new sling blade is lost. Ordered dec 24. Tracking number just says a label was created. The tackle I ordered with it came the following week. Called thorne brothers and they said it shipped.

It's not...USPS in particular, but also Fedex, and UPS are still overwhelmed from the holidays.. I've had several online orders "go dark", and were eventually delivered. Your "oversize shipment" might get held up a while longer. Better that, than getting folded in half. My mail delivery guy is still running his route twice a day.

^^ Right! We had mailed a package Priority Dec 11 that finally got there this week. Also orders that were placed in November scheduled delivery December 4 delivered last week. For various reasons our logistics systems were pushed beyond their limits this holiday season.

Things are certainly looking up...my three missing packages were at my door upon returning from playing in yet another Southern snowfall!

I have one Mojo Musky rod and two musky LT's. The LT's are nicer than the Mojo in every way other than the price.
