I did a seach and did not come up with much.. Curious to know what rod and reel you are using for suckers. I do remember someone suggesting a ugly stix but can't remember the length and power. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

I'm not a huge sucker guy, but I've had great luck with the Ugly Stick Tiger ELite 7' Heavy. I have two with original Revo Toro 60's, the clickers are strong on these. These are also excellent catfish and sturgeon rods for circle hook presentations.

I mainly use any XH rod that is retired from casting. I like 100 pound cortland and a reel with a good drag. Some people are more into it than I am and get a lot of specialized equipment, but this works for me.

i like my 7' catfish ugly stiks. i use them for trolling also. i dont use the biggest suckers, so i dont need anything ridiculous and i make my own rigs with a finer wire hook so they penetrate easily on hooksets. size 60 quantum optix reels. nothing fancy. cheap and i use them for trolling too. pretty good drags on those reels. i hold the spool when i set the hook. works for me...
