Pewaukee is 47 degrees
Okauchee and Oconmowoc are 48 degrees

Its post turnover and the lakes are settled. The 50mph winds did mess Pewaukee up a bit, but it will settle out in time.

We had water temps in the 46?F - 48?F on Big Lake in Vilas County. Looks like this will be the week that the little greasiers will be moving up onto the gravel flats and the fat pigs will be right behind. Hopefully the Micky D crowd won't mind chewing on a few deep running cranks and pass on a few cisco fries this coming weekend. Fish that we moved were all chunkers. The feed bag is going on now!!!!

Water temps up here in the north
land of Minnesota are much colder.
Today the main lake is 41 degrees,
the shallow dark water bays are in the mid 30's.

There was a thin layer of ice this
morning along the shoreline. It's
just a matter of days before some
of the back bays begin to ice up.
What a bummer![:((]

guideman
do you find the vermillion fish still fishable with lures and casting when it gets below 45 or is ir more trolling or livebait.

Hi Hooker,
I never use live bait, It's just a
personal choice that I made.

I find them very willing to hit a
jerkbait or a crankbait either by
casting or trolling.

When trolling I just slow it down a bit (2 to 3mph) I troll the 10" jakes most of the time.

In shallow water....I like to use magnum shad raps, they only run at about 5ft at those speeds.

Cobb's, bobbies, suicks and reef
hogs all seem to work well in cold
water.

Just got back from Vilas co. The temps were 40-41 even with all the snow last week.Fished suckers and the muskies were very slow. The hits that I did get were like walleye hits. They would grab it and swim along with the boat and it was almost impossible to tell if you really had a hit.

Water still in good shape . Low, clear and 55 degrees on the main lake, 58 in the head of the coves. {Stephens Lake, southern W.Va.] Fished a small river last week and with a hand held temp gauge, water read 56 degrees. Raised 2 fair fish[ 30" and 36" give or take] in the river and a small one [22"-24"] in Stephens lake today. 10-15 mph winds and cloudy, winds from the southwest. fish in the river followed a 6" reef hog and caught small musky on 6" rainbow Bomber Long-A.
Wonder where the big ones are??????????????

Pelican is at about 48 degrees. The weeds are dying on the flats, and in good shape in the west end. most of the muskies I am seeing are on the rocks.

Silver Lake , Wi was 46 degrees fish were moving. I just got back from Calderon Falls Crivitz Wi temps. were 44 to 46 degrees. Had one hit in three days of fishing and lost her, we were using suckers. High Falls you are unable to get out on unless you have a canoe. They dropped the water 6 to 8 ft making boat ramps unusable.[:knockout:]

Just back from Suel...place all closed up, and boats going into storage this week. Water temps. ranged from 42-45. Ciscoes are all staged in huge shoals near mid-lake reefs, and ready for spawning...probably in the next 10 days- 2 weeks.
