Posts: 20219 Location: oswego, il | I stayed at Running Bear resort which is in the channel between Rest and Stone lake. No wake so it's quiet. Not bad getting to clear and island but down to the southern couple lakes took time with the no wake areas. Knowing where you want to fish is key. This is a small two cabin resort very nice and quiet. Attachments ---------------- Screenshot_20200914-165257_1600124355781.jpg (118KB - 393 downloads)

Island lake cottage: https://www.vrbo.com/1317845?noDates=true&unitId=1876130 The lodge on Manitowish is beautiful and expensive. There is a small VRBO studio on manitowish lake that is part of a larger property. https://www.vrbo.com/482492?noDates=true&unitId=1065673 Fawn lake also had a VRBO, but I believe they may have split it up/sold some of it - worth a look. Pea Patch Motel, not ideal or right on the water, but close and convenient. Edited by Reef Hawg 9/15/2020 11:26 AM

Posts: 351 Location: Vilas County, WI | As mentioned above, knowing where you'd like to fish is beneficial with navigating the no wake areas. The stretch from Rest to Stone is the longest; followed by Manitowish to Alder; and Alder to Wild Rice. From Pea Patch (Rest Lake) to Wild Rice (far southern end), is a little over an hour depending how fast you are wide open across the lakes. One other thing, they will start draining that chain in the coming weeks, which then makes travel from lake to lake much more difficult or impassable.
