Headed to Green Bay the week of July 20th. This is my first trip to the bay. From what I've researched the musky move out after spawning and return back to the bay. August and September sound like the best time to cast once the fish come back. My question is, will there be a decent number of fish back in the bay during this week or is it a little early? Will these warmer temps bring them back earlier? I am going with a guide one day, but plan on fishing a day or two on our own. Any tips on areas/lure choices are helpful as well. Thanks!

July is good because it is less busy, but there should be plenty of fish around. The time the fish return is dependent on a few things, but mostly temperature and food. Normally this time of year the muskies return to shad and perch after a buffet of alewives. Late July will be fine I would avoid any earlier in July as fishing can be tough if the alewive run is strong.
