well I swindled..err....got another bluegill shallow raider replacement from my last years PMTT partner and am all happy cuz I got my fav bait back.(none elsewhere to be found)

Well after a very slow day and the only action coming from this bait (threw others to no avail, Mr.Bluegill comes through in a pinch), Mr.Bluegill #2 bit the dust.

I casted it out, doinked it off a dock and busted half it's lip off. Now it's got a big bucktooth looking thing and runs like crap!!!

arghhhh, after a LOT of choice words not fit for the younger generation or most adults, there was a moment of silence.................

pssst...you long haired fella in Combined Locks..I need another one.:(

Greg,

I feel for ya! I went to river x on Tues. eve and one of the rocks claimed the corner of my LUCKY LURE!!!

Since my lucky lure was a Perch flavored Shallow Raider... I am lure less as well. I quit.

Greg, grind the lip off and put a screw eye or bolt through the top of the bait about 1/ 1/2" in back from the nose. You might like the bait again.

Are you crying? There's no crying in Muskie fishing!

Gregger, sorry to hear of your recent loss. I will keep my eyes peeled for any bluegill Raiders I can find. Perhaps you could just send some out to Stan, and have him paint a few up? Probably want to get a dozen or so done.

yeah, stan might be able to paint some because he used to do the painting for bucher tackle

I saw they are for sale on the website of R&H as well, less than 11$ a piece

Todd, thx for the tip, might try it.

It actually twitches pretty cool, it isnt totally wrecked, but it doesnt go nearly as deep with 1/2 lip.
I could get it down to about 4' and make her dance, now it only goes to maybe 2' at best and wants to go to one side all the time obviously.

I'm actually surprised it happened. I have MANY Bucher lures and have abused them and never had anything break. I have this baby DR that has been through a war..smashed off rocks speed trolling at 6 MPH, still runs like a trooper.

oh well, guess there is a lemon everywhere. Not upset at Bucher at all, bound to get a bum one once in a while...just cranky it had to happen to that one.

Jesus Christ, when I saw the header on the post I thought, for a moment, that Troy (Mr. Bluegil on IFF) lost his young son, Fisher. WHEW!
