I fished Sunday and it was crowed, cold, and the fish did not move for me. To be honest with you, I have had better days.[;)]

It was terrible! TWICE this weekend I had tree steps pull out on me. Both times I was lucky to grab on to the stand doing only minmal damage to my old body. That`s it! This is my last season. I`ll be a bonified fall muskie fisherman from now on.
Anybody looking for 50 acres in Vernon County with Pope and Young bucks? FOR SALE
I`m heading up to Phelps for five days with a stop north of Antigo on the way up. November full moon and rain....I can`t wait.

Was in Kansas last week visiting the in-laws. Almost bagged my first tom....but just couldn't pull the trigger on the big, old boy...guess I'll have to start CPR turkey hunting (Call 'em, Photograph 'em, watch 'em Runaway). Did catch a mess of largemouth in some little fished farmponds....very entertaining for a change.

Guess things didn't go so well up north, but I had my best weekend ever and caught a 27"er and a 36"er All trolling shallow with a little jointed rapala. So far the weather next weekend looks good too. I'm hopin to catch at least 2 more before ice over. 5 in the first year would be good for me.

Great weekend, Saturday I got a 34"er on Deer Lake and got a solid 45"er on my next cast! Both fish on a jig, also lost one. Sunday the same two of us went Squirrel hunting and we bagged 10 bushy tails. Tried to get out on the water on Sunday Eve. but no luck just ran out of time. Will be going again this next weekend though. Both hunting and fishing.

Let Em Go...Let Em Grow[] [] [] []

Made it out on the water on Saturday and fished a new lake for the first time. I caught a little pig that went 35", and gave me a heart attack as it smoked my phantom at boatside. I also had a low 40" fish take a crack at the phantom at boatside, but failed to get any barbs in the mouth. My fishing buddy also had a a upper 30" fish take a swipe at his deep invader while he decided to turn the trolling motor on to adjust the boat position. He was pretty ticked off that the fish caught him with his pants down. This happened at the end of the day after a long day of not seeing any fish. Overall it was a great day to be on the water and relax.

Looked at a boat saturday and did not get out. Got blown off of silver lake and went to the chain where we lost a small one trolling. Popps slacked the line when he took off the planer board. My electric motor was no match for that wind.[:(]

Nothing in the boat, but had two hit at boatside on figure 8s. One of about 30" that I pulled the hooks away from and one of about 40" that the hooks didn't hold on. Other than that, just a few follows. The fish that we raised did seem fairly aggressive though. Water temps were 46° to 48°.

My weekend went good,Saturday I got a 35"er on a Squirko at Lake Eau Claire and looked hard for the big girl that shook the lure last weekend but as usual,no avail.Sunday Murphy decided to pay me a visit,I slipped off my boat trailer whe I was getting the boat in the water and soaked both feet. After a few choice swear words I decided to tough it out and fish.I started acroos the lake,(Namakagon),and a cup flew out of the boat,I turned around and tried to find it,no luck, turned the boat and a big wave hit the little 15' Tuffy and darn near got tossed out of the boat, now my day is going great, what else could happen...Well not much, fish were pretty much inactive, then I remebered what Doug Johnson told me eariler this month about fishing WI lakes...Fish the largest structure....I did just that and it paid off with a 40"er on a sucker, decided to make another drift and had 2 more hits, both on suckers that I missed. So That was my weekend turned out decent, beat the heck out of staying home...[] Good Luck to all,Paul

T zone on Friday saw a bunch but no shots. 3 definite shooter bucks for the regular season plus a fourth that I didn''t get a good look at.

Saturday worked the Badger/Michigan St game at Camp Randall. Long day - 14 hours on my feet.

Sunday turned 36 but my wife tells me I don''t act a day over 12. It''s gonna be a long year...didn''t score on my birthday.

Monday arrowed a nubbin buck. Was smaller than I thought but we did get some good meat out of it. Used 1 T zone tag. Still have another plus 2 buck tags. Felt bad but after my youngest left the freezer door open last week and everything thawed out, I had to put something back in.

Gonna try getting out on Monona next week to troll and fish some suckers. Maybe Wednesday afternoon, will have to see.
