| Howdy, just lookin for some feedback, and pros and cons on shoot thru hull transducers. I'd really just being using it for high speed/on plane readings, but how well do they read if used for fishing, if needed. Thx ahead of time! |

Location: Athens, Ohio | Sooo, are you going to install it or have it installed? One of the worst days I've had was trying to convince myself that it is perfectly OK to take a hole saw at the end of an electric drill and bore a wee-bit-larger hole in the floor of my boat so that the transducer would fit. I had to be sedated afterwards, but it worked out.
Next trick, then is to be sure you get the epoxy resin in the hole with no bobbles when you lay the transducer in. After than, covering the unit with the resin was pretty easy. Good luck, m |

Location: Northern Illinois | You don't have to drill any holes in the bottom of the boat for a shoot thru transducer... The key word shoot thru hull transducer. all you do is clean the surface with sandpaper dry it really good and epoxy the transducer in the correct manor that the instructions state. |
