Location: Cave In Rock Illinois | Thinking about getting a new glide bait reel to replace a Revo Toro HS that has about a million casts on it!
Does the Tranx 400 cast well with the level wind disengagement on the cast?
My 500 Tranx makes a helluva racket pulling out line on the cast?
How is the smoothness on the new Revo Rocket?
Everyone I fish with laughs at the sound of my old Revo 50HS:) |

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota | Another vote for the tranx 400, if it’s in your budget I really don’t see a reason to consider other options I like it so much |

| I like my rocket for this application but not for hard pulling baits |

| If you liked your old Revo Toro, you will like the Rocket. Incredible line pick up. You can also really burn things in. Not a power reel. You need lower gears if you want easier pulling. |

| I have both reels. The rocket is smoother IMO and for sure casts farther. |

| I own both reels as well. IMO the Tranx is smoother and easier to palm. They cast similar distance to me. I have no issues with my Rocket as I use for big Rubber. Honestly I would not use either as my Glide bait reel. I have used my 400hg for glides before and you can do it with no problem but I find I can get a much better rythem going on glide baits with a slower reel. I know you wanna pick up slack line but when you are working glides slow in the winter your not picking up much line and feel 30-34IPT is more of a sweet spot on glides for me. muc prefer my reg tranx 400 or Lexawinn for my glides |
