Posts: 280 | I'm trying to find info on this fish which I believe to be the Mn state record tiger caught in the early 1980's. The photo lists Dan Kline from St. Paul as the angler. Any info would be appreciated....TY!! Attachments ---------------- ![]()

Posts: 280 | Thanks.....This pic came from Muskies Inc. "Muskie-Catching Fishing Facts" by George Sandell. I haven't seen it in any of the Compendiums. I probably should ask Larry..... Edited by fins355 1/13/2020 4:30 PM

Posts: 267 | State record tiger was caught out of Lake Elmo on 7/7/1999. But probably would have been beaten by this one caught in the St. Louis River. https://www.duluthnewstribune.com/sports/2312071-possible-record-tig...

Still one of the most insane fish I've ever seen. The release picture puts into perspective how unreal this fish was

Posts: 304 Location: Lino Lakes, MN | Dan was a member of the Twin Cities Muskies Inc chapter. He was crushing Bald Eagle lake back in the mid to late 80's. He would travel north and Moose was one of his lakes that he fished hard. I have not seen Dan's name in many moons. He shared some early tips on fishing Wisconsin strain fish in Bald Eagle lake in the 80's. Now it is entirely Leech Lake strain. I remember seeing that fish and that it came from Moose. He also fished Deer Lake as well. I do not hear of either of those lakes anymore since the stocking of MN's larger lakes started in like 87. How many of the muskie fishermen / women were around in the late 80's??? I am dating myself having caught muskies in the 80's here. Edited by Sorgy 1/17/2020 11:33 AM

Posts: 540 | I know a guy who would of taken the record back then. Small off shoot of leech lake. He had it mounted and thought it was a normal muskie. I seen it on his wall and he showed me the picture. I told him it was a straight up tiger 100% and he would of had the record. It was 49.5" and 38lbs i think if i remember right.
