Have an OLD 17' deep v aluminum sea nymph that is not the most comfortable to cast out of. Lookin to do a major overhaul to rework the interior casting deck & seating arrangement to morph it into the ultimate musky machine. Has anyone done this, and how did ya do it? What kind of materials, etc.

thanx,

I have done a few. I used 3/4 treated plywood to build the deck, and reinforced it with aluminum angle. If you make it so it is a 'box', and has removable pin hinges that hold it into the boat, you can use the interior for storage, and take it out if you want the extra room. The sides and bottom of the box can be 1/4 or 3/8, to keep it light. Carpet, and you are done.
