Well, here's some amazing video....

"The bird can be seen floating along, and at first, appears to be injured as it swims to shore. But it was not injured, it was hauling in its lunch — what appears to be a live muskie.

Andie and Dan Goff of Woodbury, Minnesota, told the Star Tribune they were near the Afton Marina in Minnesota when it happened.

"It's a huge live muskie," Dan can be heard saying in the video.

"Good job buddy!" Andie says.

"Another video posted to Dan's Twitter account shows the eagle enjoying its shore lunch."

Now that's amazing.

Now that's pretty cool! We saw one take a decent sized walleye about 20 yards from the boat. Barely made a splash, grabbed the fish with both talons, and flew off over the trees with it. We had another one on Ord that was making all sorts of racket trying to drag something out of the reeds along the shore. Whatever it was it was too heavy for the Eagle to get it up high enough where we could see it. Cool birds.

Kill the eagles! There are fewer muskies in Vermilion. There are lots of eagles at Vermilion. Video evidence shows that eagles eat muskies. Therefore, kill the eagles. Right?

I have an "eagle tale" that happened last weekend. We are working our way out to the main lake through an inlet creek. My son is throwing a swim bait and gets eaten by a small pike. The pike had totally engulfed the swim bait and as my son is getting it near the boat, the pike thrashes around and somehow managed to open the clasp on the leader and was gone with the bait. After we fished the main lake, as we are coming in for lunch, we looked for the pike which we expected to be floating by this time, but it was no where to be seen. After lunch, I was throwing some casts off the pier waiting for the rest of the guys to go back out. I see an eagle swooping down in the area that the pike was lost at and then saw it sitting on a stump in the weeds eating something. I call the guys and tell them that we need to get to that stump before the eagle potentially eats the lure. As we are approaching the stump, the eagle takes off, but drops the pike. We looked for the pike in the weeds, but couldn't see it. We went to the stump just to see what was there. The eagle had torn the head off the pike and it was in the water next to the stump. Much to our surprise, there was the swim bait on the stump, almost like the eagle placed it there for us. Unbelievable, but true!
