Posts: 2361 | I have been seeing what I believe to be the same fish in the same spot for going on 3 years now. The fish is bigger each year and is identified by me through its marked obesity. I have gotten the fish to follow several times and usually it takes both a good bait and presentation to even get it to show. I have tried my bag of tricks on it, and so far no go. It may be that the position the fish sits in is not a feeding position, and judging by the dimensions of this particular fish, being hungry is not something it spends much time at. Anybody have an idea?

Posts: 1310 Location: Washington, PA | First, send me gps cooridinates, and that way I can give a more "informed" decision. I've heard of this before, and have read that this probably isn't the same fish over and over, that it realistically is a big fish spot. I don't really know. If I were you, IMHO, this fish WILL eat, but the stars may have to align, lol. So, when on the water, if I saw a front moving through, or something along those lines, I'd get to that spot ASAP, maybe you can get her to go.

Location: Pewaukee, WI | It would be easier to help if we new the lake, water temp and baits you have used to raise her in the past.??????? Seriuosly though....I had the same problem last year...she was big enough to keep me out of my bear stand for an entire day.......I waited her out...badgered her with a bulldawg and a 10 inch photoshad jig...hours upon hours....she finally went........it's hard to do but if she's big enough.....it's one on one baby!

Posts: 32958 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I have a fish like that on Pelican. I just turned her over to Nwild, who is far better versed than I using suckers. I hope he can pop her a good one, she has been driving me crazy for three years.

Posts: 358 | I assume you are refering to the ever poplular "Chamber of commerce fish." The one that sits in the same spot week after week and comes out just long enough to let you know that "yes, mr. or mrs. tourist there are MUSKIES in this lake!" I had a similiar experience on my lake up north. 4 weekends in a row I could get her to come out and show her face, only snub her nose at what ever bait I was throwing at that time. Never to be seen again, I just figured she quit working for the village!

Posts: 1335 Location: Chicago, Beverly | I was told once by a guide that some fish that do that may go to those spots to digest a meal, and then return to a different spot to feed. Might be a possibility.
