Putting an Abu Garcia 6501C4 back together after installing a new Smoothie drag and powerhandle, I've got everything back together, except I can't get the little spring (to engage the spool) to stay connected to the little metal nob. It always wants to slip off. Is it usually extremely difficult or does it seem like I'm doing something wrong?

Thanks,
MJB

If you mean the little brass post which one end of the spring goes on, it's quite a tight fit. You need to push it down until it's about halfway down the post, then it shouldn't slip off. The other end attaches to the chromed release arm.
