Gentlemen, we are heading up to Vilas for opener for a week. From reports I've read it sounds like a slow warm up. Have the muskies spawned in most lakes? We can hop around and fish smaller darker water if things are behind. Appreciate the input, thank you.

Location: Wisconsin
I can only speak to a few larger lakes i have been on this week in Oneida county, but the musky were currently spawning. Saw a few groups paired up in shallows on Sunday.

I was out crappie fishing yesterday in Oneida County and there were muskies spawning along one shore. Late last week my neighbor had them spawning by his pier and I had either big pike or muskies spawning along the shore by my place. They were under a tree that hangs just above the water and couldn't make out what they were.
