Current temperature, 64 degrees and sunny skies. The chain of lakes I live on is very busy. Guys showing off their new rigs go past my house at 60-70mph. My dock is still not in, I still have not picked up my boats. Changed the oil on my mowers and cut the grass(picked up leaves and other debris from winter). Cleaned the grill and brought out deck furniture. Picked up my license yesterday and the guy at the bait shop said folks still have frozen septic tanks from last winter. Brutal. Wow, this is not how I planned to spend opening day. How's your opener going? Kdawg

Nothern Wi opener was good, went to a couple lakes. Did well on walleyes, big smallmouth, and pike. Worried about a little lake we fish crappies on, fished it for 3 hours without a tap or seeing any fish. Dropped the Aqua-Vu down looking to see if there were dead fish anywhere, went a few hundred yards and nothing.

Made it up to the cabin for the first time. Opened up for the season and got the water running and see that I need to replace my kitchen faucet. Had to wash the dishes in the bath tub! And no, I did not get in with them. We did stain the piers and get them in. Threw a few casts for pike, but got nothing. Great to be back up at the cabin!

Nice fish Steve!  There was a significant amount of winterkill on some ponds/lakes by me from this last winter.

Christened the spring a couple weeks ago, walleye fishing Green Bay tributaries for a couple days while visiting a friend in the UP. Good fishing and crappy weather that Friday, crappy fishing and good weather the next day. Spent this last weekend getting stuff done. Took the snow thrower off the lawn tractor, changed the oil, sharpened the blades and put the mower housing on. Lawn chairs out of the shed, snow shovels and roof rake into the shed. Cleaned the gutters. Put up a wood duck house and pulled a bunch of buckthorn. Taking the boat down to Iowa for a mother's day visit. Going to scratch my muskie itch on a lake that limits to 10 horse after May.

Not saying this is your issue, but I have left the little cap with the screen on faucets up North only to find them blocked solid after priming the pump for the first season use. Many (like me) discover the cabin on a lake you wished for all your life includes more chores time than fishing time. It’s a surprise for the first few seasons.

My faucet issue was that I neglected to drain the water from the sprayer hose. It froze and burst. You would think after 20 years of doing this stuff I would remember the simple things.
