Hiya!!

Trailer I have is a 2003 single axle rangertrail trailer without brakes.

Considering adding them, but dilemma is that my axle has both inner and outer bearings the same size (1-3/8" straight spindle). Axle has the mounting flange for brakes, so no issue there...its finding the correct hub to match my spindles...

So...question is this: For those of you who have around this vintage of trailer including brakes (single or dual axle)....does your axle with brakes have different bearing sizes (1-3/8 x 1/16...standard 1750 lb hub) or are they the same size bearings? I am assuming disk brakes and is a solid disk/hub with oil bath...
Thanks

Steve

If you can't find your answers here check with Kraemer Spring. They are right off of Robert Street and Hwy 110 in West St. Paul.

I just changed my oil bath bearings on a 2004 Ranger single axle trailer with disc brakes. The bearings were the same size. The link attached is what I bought. I don't recall what size they are but definitely the same size for the inboard vs the outboard bearing.

Yes my brake hubs use the same spindle and bearing as the idler hub. I think this is what you are looking for.

Ranger has them cheaper and I believe they will sell you the whole kit.

Hiya,

Found them as well, but to change over to brakes, it's going to be expensive. I was really hoping to find a brake drum so I could go electric... I have not been successful with that route.

I have a 1999 Ranger dual axle trailer with surge disc brakes. The bearings are the same in all of them. Just a pain to change on the rear with the brakes. Ranger has two types of calipers mine are the ones that don't look like traditional calipers for disc brakes
