With the fall trolling gig coming on fast I would like to hear from the masses what their experiences have been with the 13" bait. I have a jointed 13" Fire Tiger pattern that I have started to drag a little. Just recently it started to roll over and quit working (while on the shallow eye)- a couple of rod pumps and she is back in buisness. What is causing this it happens at 2.5 and on up to 3.7 mph. I have had no problems with it on the deep setting.
I really like the wide wobble the bait has- Any suggestions on how to fix the roll over?
I have not caught anything on it yet- I am confident that it will work well. What has everyone elses experience been? What are you seeing with the straight model? Anyone on the band wagon for these? Thorn Bros has a great selecion in the believers but limited in the Jakes.
I will be buying more 14" Jakes - Possibly more Believers.

Thanks

Steve

I had a buddy that went into a store and he wanted to buy some of these huge baits. While he was picking one out, the guy comes up to him and says "You do realize that these are trolling baits?" I told my buddy he should have asked the guy where the casting ones were.

I've got a 13" Jointed Believer - I've found that it's probably not the best bait for trolling faster than about 2-2.5MPH - Probably better off with the straight model for trolling. I actually bought mine to use as topwater - Love that snaking crawling action - Biggest fish so far on it? A 6lb Bass! Believe it! Don't know if he was trying to eat or mate!

Yes the bait swings side to side a bunch. I should have tried it on top with a little Vermilion fish this last weekend. I do think I will be trolling it this fall. Please keep the responses coming.
That bass was nuts!
I think the bait looks absolutely huge in the water.

Next question--- Straight or Jointed for late fall trolling--- Water temps 40 or lower?

Thanks

Steve

Random bump 12 years later...

Anyone have experience either good or bad with the 13" believers, straight or jointed?

imho the 8 inch is too good to waist time with the 13

Thanks! Really like those baits! I always use the deep eye but want to start experimenting this year with shallow eye.
