Location: Chicago | I use the 6'10" Fig Rig heavy jerkbait rod and think its the best rod on the market. I use this rod for almost all applications (mag dawgs to hair).
Do a search on the forums and I think you find more information and threads about the 8' models.
If you decide to purchase a Fig Rig, I do not think you will be disappointed.

| I got both, The 8` medheavy is no comparision with the saint! The fig is awesome with a couple dozen fish on it! It`s about 50$ more then the st. too! The fig in that 8 mh is a very all around rod from 3/4oz hair to ripp`en 10" jakes,awesome and super light/sensetive blank.If you buy the 8med it will turn out to be more a specialty rod for smaller things,so I got the one that does it all and will have a 7'6" H for 2004 for big,big jerks! LONG is better too! Sorry st. but they are awesome! |

| I do own an 8' medium fig. I love the feel when throwing med. baits. It's a bit light for heavier stuff but I did get a chance to throw a MH 8' fig this summer and loved it. That will be my next rod. |

Location: Pewaukee, WI | I think the fig action is a bit softer....the croix was a bit to stout for me when I went to an 8 footer......depends on what you like to throw I guess......either way you can't go wrong |

Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | I have broke one while I was up fishing with Gregg Thomas this summer. I also know that some of his have broke.
I am sure they are good for the avg. guy that fishes muskies, the guy that only goes out less than 10 times a year.
But for long term, and using them everyday, I would go with a Lamiglass Inshore 8 footer.

Location: Rice Lake,WI | ditto Mike I have been with people in the boat and watched them break on hooksets and slight snags. Don't own any and don't want something that can't take the wear and tear. They all seem to break at about the same spot. If you fish hard and are ripping big baits thru alot of the season
I'd probably purchase something else.

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I have two Fig Rigs and know of a buch more out there that have taken serious punishment without a problem. ALL rod builders have a number of broken rods returned, what is comes down to is how the warranty is handled. I have broken several rods from another builder over the years, and still use their rods because they build a nice stick that is guaranteed. |

It's just that I know A LOT of guides,people who have snapped these things
over the past 2 seasons and Hey no one company is perfect but there was a huge run of bad blanks sent out or is it just coincedence hhhhmmmmmm.....
I own 5 Croix's that have been thru all of it for years and I have yet to date to snap one on a cast or hookset on a fish. Had cork butts crack off the 8's,replacing line guides and eyes but they never failed in flight so
to speak. I'm sure they aren't a bad rod and a lot of you guys are friends and defending that but I am a consumer who lives on the boat and I'm gonna call it like I see it man. There are plenty of great rod manufactures out
there but the snap stories are concerning the company we are talking about.
Talk to some of the musky shops and see how many "rigs" have been taken back. As to the honoring the warranty, that's great but your out a rod for the time being unless you have back ups,bottomline it should not happen that much and it does...that's all. The sad thing is I don't know THAT many people so imagine the others... hey maybe they could go 2-piece and save themselves some cash on shipping out new ones! Don't take it personally because you own a few ...you didn't get lemons.

| Kevin builds an awsome rod guys, but he also stands behind them 100%, we carry all the brands, and quite frankly rods break whether it be on a rock, or a cleat or under a foot, things happen and Kevin will always make things right.

| I have the 8" MH and it is an awesome stick. It has stepped on it and had a door go shut on it and it still going strong. Been using it for ripping ernie's and ddd's lately still going strong. I will be in the market for another in the future. |

Location: Eau Claire, WI | Just my experience in the past few seasons with Fig-Rigs.
I own 4 Figs and fish three of them consistently...
I fish 3-5 times per week...
I broke one the first time out either last season or the season before, got it replaced and no problems since..."knock wood".
Very light rod, great action, power, handle diameter, balance is good.
I would purchase another one in a minute without hesitation. They are the most comfortable rods I have ever fished.
A few things to consider...
Kevin has been building Musky Rods for only about 3-4 seasons, at least that's my understanding. Prior to this he was building one of the finest walleye rods on the market. He has made a few changes with the musky line since he started as any new manufacturer would. Bottom line is that he is always looking to improve his product and provide a damn nice rod at a competetive price, that's why they took off so well and became very popular. Huge growth curve in the 2002 season, nice problem to have as a business owner but too fast of growth is a hard thing to manage from business standpoint and some times things happen that may not have happened at a slower pace of growth. Kevin has honored his warranty and taken care of his dealers and customers....customer service has been excellent from everything I've heard and experienced.
I am not sponsored by Fig-Rig or any other rod manufacturer.

| Mike Hulbert, I would not consider myself an average angler @ min. 5 days a week fishing from may 1st to nov.30 with a healthly amount of fish to boot!That Fig is a WARHORSE, plain and simple and this season alone I broke 2-saints and i-HMG and hold know blame on either company and will buy rods again from all 3 companys in the future.In my humble opinion the rods you mention are kinda tanks and to me and apparently many others would not be a first choice of a CASTING TOOL! Long live my FIG cause it just plain preforms! Handy
P.S- I receive no perks from any company either! |

Looks like Diamondback and Fig Rig are one in the same.

Location: Kentucky | I Have an 8' Med. Hvy. Bought it to use on Vermillion in Sept. Great rod! Stepped on it the second day I was on Vermillion and broke an eye! Sent it back and Fig Rir replaced it !!!!! No Questions Asked!! Whats even better than a great rod is GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE !!
