I’m just not satisfied with my rod holders set up on my Skeeter WX1850. I have them currently mounted on the bars using a Stealth bracket. Scotty’s will also fit this bracket and actually work better for Musky rods. What are others using to mount trolling rod holders on the bar? I think Rangers also use the bars on the side?

I’d check out Fat AZ rod holders.

Age old battle here. Put the Scotty's on. Best rod holders I have used.

Cisco Short Cradles w/chicken rings. Best of the best! Aircraft Aluminum machined out of one piece. No worries of it ever failing.

This comes up couple times a year and always develops into my Ford is better than your Chevy. I've used Down Easters for over 30 years I also have Scotty's which kinda scare me but never failed. The Scotty's are mostly used for salmon which will out pull any muskie. I also use Bert's ratcheting for boards. They all work if you treat then right.

Everything is mounted on Bert's tracks and removable when someone is casting from the back of the boat or when installing the cover.

Folbe and be done with it. No more tearing up rods and reels like with some other aluminum rod holders.

It's amazing how many times this topic comes up. I have tried several rod holders, but I have found Fat AZ Rail Mounts with DE Heads on my Down and Out Rods and Fat AZ Rail Mounts with Fat AZ Tubes for my On-Line Board Rods work best for me.

I agree this is debated here several times a year. I still love using my scotty's they are so easy to use.even in December, never had an issue. Never tried a folbe, I have two down easter's and loath them. If my only choice were down east rod holders I would give up trolling.

Maybe a dumb question, but for those of you that run the rail mount tracks (trax?) system how long does it take to put that on and take off?

Asking because I fish salmon in the summer, but will still chase muskies on a few long trips at that time frame.

Not sure what you mean by rail mount tracks. I have 36 inch Bert's tracks on each gunnel ahead of my Scotty rigger bases and I'm sure I can add or remove a combination 6 rod holders in less than 3 minutes.

Ciscos have two set screws on each end as stoppers. To remove or change any track component just remove two screws and change what you need to. Tranx have an end plate that is just as easy to remove and replace. Also my experience with Down East holders has not been a favorable one. Glad there are other options.

got me muddy creek traxs with Fat az mounts with the saltys mounted up on them. Only way I would ever roll. I had the scottys and just don't trust them especially when its 5 degrees out and you pulling heavy baits against current on river at 5mph feel like a big fish hits my holder may explode..bought 6 saltys by DE and cant imagine using anything else again. Illl be buying more traxs this spring and few more saltys and Fat az extenders
