My father is headed up to Vilas this weekend, had a guide set up for Sunday, but things fell through. Any suggestions on some good available guides?

I would give Rob Manthei a call, he is one of the best up there.
After spending the entire summer in Vilas County and only about a half mile away from Rob's house, I can say that nobody fished more days or hours then he did. I had the great opportunity to fish with Rob at least once a week, sometimes more. We were always able to get some good action.

He will be able to get you on fish, period

His info is:

Rob Manthei's Fishing Guide Service

You can't go wrong with Rob.

Hope this helps,

Mike Hulbert

I second the vote for Rob Manthie....he knows his stuff and is an excellent educator as well. Jeff Winters is another good one as is John Shulta.

Rob Manthie is an excellent guide. He is in the St.Germain area as well as Ken Jackson. If you want to head east towards the Cisco Chain, Lac Vieux Desert, Pat Sheahan is your man.
Pat's contact info is...715 479-5095

Tight lines to ya,
Karen
