Just line any lure it all depends on the speed, amount of line out, diameter of line, etc....

What kind of trolling will you be doing? If we knew the other variables we can help.

-50# Trilene Big Game

Can I get a DDD down to 30' or should I look at using a 8" Bagleys Bang-o B?

no way man! I could get it 15 feet deep while trolling, maybe you can get to 20 feet deep but not 30.

50# Big Game line is not the line that is preferable to get most deep diving crankbaits to 30 feet of depth, diameter is to big,to much resistance against the water.Go with 80 lb test Power Pro and use either a Hi-Fin Trophy Diver with the Big Niagara Two Pull Lip or a Legend Perchbait and you can reach those 30 ft depths with ease. How much line to put out, that will depend on trolling speed, rod tip position from the water surface and if your leader is wire or fluorocarbon. Each lure should be tested for depth by placeing them out till they tap bottom on a know snag free bottom. That is the only way to know the exact depth and relationship of where your crankbait is in distance from the boat,in order to be able to place it on a dime in the strike zone.

The bagley will not get down there unless you weight it. The triple d should get deeper, you might need 100ft of line out with smaller diameter superline to accomplish that. Try a mann's magnum 30 or 50 or even a sinking depth raider.

Capt. Larry I noticed the Hi-Fin Trophy Diver with the Big Niagara Two Pull Lip says its built for trolling at slower speeds. Do you know how fast you can go with this lure and have it still run true? What about the Legend Perch?

I've had good luck with Depthraiders but they only get to 20 feet without weights or pulling wire, which I'm not sure I want to get into using.
