I have the terrova with ipilot that is a few years old. Does the auto pilot ever need to be recalibrated? It just seems like it's not keeping me on course as well as it did before.

No, clouds, current, wind all affect this. I pilot link can be updated but not just I pilot.

If you push and hold the autopilot button the circle that is around the N^ will disappear and then I think it works better at casting speeds, this will point the head in one direction and that is it, the advanced ap (N^ with circle) will drop a line from your current position all the to shore, and when you blow off that line say 15' it will swerve 90* to try and get you back on that line

I should have added I wasn't using the ap with the GPS I was using the setting without the N circled.

Haven't put something with a magnet like a speaker close by have you? Waves take away some of the steady ness also
