2018 Lund Rebel 1750 XS w/ 90hp Merc, MK powerdrive, and I will be installing my HB Helix today. So far, so good. Handles great, pleasantly surprised by the power, it’s got plenty..

We have one in red, love it. We added a Just Encase rear deck, perfect ride for what we do.

Sweet rig Steve. Let me ask you, do you use a transom saver on that rig? Or the wedge? Thanks..

a rubber-like block that goes around your hydraulic shaft on your motor to reduce the stress/bouncing. Google M-Y Wedge..

I used the wedge for a season with the 90 merc. Had issue with trim. Use a transom saver the service guy highly recommended it

Yes, this is quite the topic on BBC as options are very limited currently.

I went with with Atwood shock absorbing transom savor to avoid cylinder / seal issues with the wedge. I do use the hydraulic steering clips though.

Plenty of rumors that motor mate is going to make one for 4 strokes, but I have not seen one yet.

Good Luck

I've got the same boat in a 2016. 90 hp 4 stroke with a 4 stroke 9.9 kicker. I use the transom saver on both motors on a Lund galvanized trailer with no problems in 5500 towing miles. Dealer recommended them over the wedges. He feels and I agree they are easier on the transom and the seals than a wedge on any hull.

What does the saddle on the trailer end of the transom saver attach to?

For my Lund 1775 impact there was a bracket that came with mine that mounts with the bolt under the middle of the back bar on the trailer. Dealer said it is made for that Lund trailer

Same thing happened with me. Switched a transom saver now myself. The wedge is good but you can't put to much pressure down on it or it will ruin a seal on the hydraulic lift.

What does the saddle on the trailer end of the transom saver attach to?
[I had to cut the transom saver down about 10 inches to maintain an average towing height on the 90. I removed the "stud" end of the transom saver and welded a 12 in piece of 1 in flat stock to it. You must drill a center hole in the flat stock large enough to fit the cut of stud. after welding the flat stock to the stud it is easy to bund it into the "U" shape needed to fit the roller. After you get the fit simply cut off the extra stock on each end. The whole modification to me 30 min. Hope this helps/QUOTE]

Unfortunately there is no roller or crossmember that has anything to mount a transom saver to on or is reachable at the rear of either my roller trailer for the 1625 or Keith's 1750 bunk trailer. Both are Shoreland'rs. The next 1750 we buy will have the custom trailer under it.

One on top the other in the trailer cross bar. I've also done this to accommodate the transom saver for the main motor. By the photo u posted the two 1/2 in holes would work. You may need to lower or replace the center light bar. Two red marker lights, one on each side of the drilled hole for the toter would work well and easy to do. Hope this helps/QUOTE]

I have a Lund 1875 impact, 150, and custom galvanized shorelander trailer. I have used the wedge on the 150 and my 9.9 kicker for 1.5 years now and that’s fishin 6 days a week from may until November. I don’t travel far probably at most 40 miles round trip on average. The roughest roads I have are the one I live on and the ones near the lake. I have had 0 problems so far with either motor. I drive slow on the rough roads highway speeds on better shape roads. My dealer told me that the motors are designed to be trailered all the way up in the lock position. He thought the wedge would be fine and a good alternative. While researching what to use I found a whole other thought about what the trailer transmits into the motor using a transom saver. I didn’t have a good location to mount to also so I went with the wedge. I really like the motor mate design and hope they-design one for the 4 strokes. I’ll try them for sure, I like that mounting position. Tight lines ........
