Location: Chicago | Karen, getting excited about Cass next week? I don't think many people are going to say too much right now. I spoke with Julie at Break on the lake and she said the lake has turned.
If any one from the recent MF Cass trip would like to give out info that would be great. It sounded like the Tourney the week before had great results and this past week was really tough?

When are you arriving? We plan to get there around noon on Tuesday. Scott and Porkchop should be there late Monday.

| No turnover!
Not yet at least. Temps 52 or so...
Fishing was tough all last week. Fish were up on top of the bars and the two that were caught were relating to cabbage.
Cold weather all this week may get her to turn over.
Baitfish still scattered....

| Isn't MN a one rod per angler state? I'd hate to see anybody to get busted.
Good luck to all MFer's in the Championship! I think you guys are gonna set records in this tourney. Looks like the timing will be perfect for lotsa big fish.

Location: Elgin, IL | Just got back from Cass. Fished there 4 days. Weather was cool and windy... but never the same wind direction. Water temps were anywhere from 48 to 51. Turnover completed several days ago and water clarity was very good in most areas.
Had very little success fishing with artificials this year, and we threw everything we had. We were looking for the reed bite on windward shores, but never found it. We caught a few hammerhandles, a big bass, 3 healthy pike in the low 30's, and a 32 inch muskie on spinnerbaits. Lost an upper 30's and a low to mid 40's fish on a bulldawg as well. The only thing that really worked for us was fishing a sucker on the first breakline. Fish were hanging between 7 and 11 ft of water near any remaining cabbage. Ended up with 4 fish. 42, 43, 44 and a huge, fat 47 incher... all while dragging the meat. That's all they wanted I guess. Will post pics when they come in.
And yeah, Shep is correct. The regs say one line per angler. So we took turns sitting it out to watch the sucker rig.
Good luck to all PMTT anglers this week. Full moon and a little Indian summer should really get things going.

| I get a lot of fish to follow a bait in tha fall that then end up hitting the sucker. Wonder if it would be legal to use a hookless bait, like a Reef Hawg or Suick, while hanging a sucker. Kinda like a decoy? Any thoughts on this? |

I'll follow up with pics of the 3 biggest fish CPR'd..
