Posts: 16632 Location: The desert | Anyone have any tips for the Girl/Woman lakes for multi species (bass, panfish, pike, eyes)? Trying to put some youngsters on fish. Don't need your musky spots as they won't be fishing them. Any help greatly appreciated.

Posts: 781 Location: Ames, Iowa | Where are you staying? If you are on the east side of Girl I would fish the neck that enters Longville between the Dockside Bar and the bait store downtown. Panfish and bass in that channel. There is a bit of current there too. If the kids get bored take them to the turtle races or get an ice creme cone downtown.

I've got a buddy headed up to Girl, I'm not certain where they are staying, but this is helpful, thanks!

You wouldn't by chance, be referring to the Chef Cafe would you? Back in the 80's, many a late night dash in and dash out for wings.

Posts: 63 | I call dibs!. If I can make a living off chicken wings in that place, I'm leaving next week. Spent my childhood not catching fish with my folks on Baby Lake and Long Lake. But now that I have a few ski's in the bag, I'll try anything up there! -10,001

Posts: 3480 Location: Elk River, Minnesota | And that doesn't always turn out well either!! The golf course closed a couple years ago which I believe was also owned by someone in the Tabaka family. I miss the old days up there with the log built gas station on the corner, the old musky house marine.... At least a good ice cream cone is still there and in the same spot as it has been for as long as I can remember.. Steve
