Posts: 7039 Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | I figure about 1/4 of the muskie season is in the books for most of us...so how's your season going so far? I'm in a bizarrely hot streak! Makes no sense and will surely be followed by horrid results! Posts: 815 Location: Waukee, IA | Fished way less than I wanted to, or at least less than the last few seasons. First few times out were ugly, lots of followers but nothing that even looked serious about eating, and they definitely didn't. My most recent trip yielded 3 caught in a 5 hour period. These fish, man.

Posts: 20219 Location: oswego, il | Fished 4 days and have 2 fish. Only been salmon fishing once. Seems like every weekend is a major cold front, too windy to be out on the big lake and now heat waves. Doubt i will musky fish again until my lotw trip mid august. Definitely a way off year for me. There are places i fish frequently i have been once or not at all. Edited by ToddM 7/6/2018 6:08 PM

Posts: 1168 | It's going great. I haven't fished on open water since July 9th, 2017. Not missing it one bit. Lakes can't freeze up fast enough.

Posts: 20219 Location: oswego, il | 47, that is an awesome pic. I was able to get my grandfather a few muskies, some big pike and bass well in his 80's. I did his casting for him but he reeled everything in.

Posts: 155 | Got 12 down on the Madison chain in 6 days. But been slower around home(twin cities), put 2 in the boat here so far. It would be nice to fish the Chain full time because of the number of fish you can catch, just wish there were bigger fish in it.

Posts: 16632 Location: The desert | Pumped $3600 into the boat from winterization to opener. Mostly fishing with the 4 year old so a lot of bass and gills. Spend maybe 6 hours fishing muskies in two outings this year, sometimes kids and family are more important than a musky.

Posts: 343 | I'm doing fairly well though health problems have limited my fishing. Biggest 48" tiger, 41" purebred all caught wading.

Posts: 387 Location: SW Ohio | Started out really, really slow. One small fish >30" on Cave Run trolling. Nothing here on our home lake (Caesar Creek). About a month ago started getting follows on CC but no hookups. Went to Eagle River, WI for the PMTT and found fish. Several good follows during practice that we pulled the lures away from, couple nice Northerns. Second day of the tourney caught a huge 46 3/4" fish but nothing else. Yesterday, back at home, caught a 34" and saw several others. The fishing is getting better but the water is getting too warm now. Off the St Clair for the next couple of weekends. Posts: 1291 Location: Hayward, Wisconsin | Going too good, haven't been out much. Think I'd better quit for the year...averaging a 52 incher every other day with a 49 inch kicker and a 34 (only fished 6 days so far).

Posts: 833 | I've fished seriously 1 day, and semi seriously 2 days. On the 2nd semi-serious day I boated a double, 50 and a 47. I really can't complain. I've caught more fish than I probably deserve given the amount of time I've been able to put into muskies.

Posts: 252 | Started out in a real stinker of a slump this year. Lost 10+ fish in a row (stopped counting). Then, for no particular reason, I started catching fish! Now, I've caught 15 so far myself and 22 for my boat. Slumps can be nasty!! I don't really think that I changed anything. Those aggravating fish must have changed something...

Location: On the O | Was a great start for us, buddy caught a nice one on the opener and I followed him up the very next day. My fish actually won me my chapter outing which came with a small trophy and more importantly bragging rights. My wife still isn't the happiest with the prominent placement of the trophy but I'll move it downstairs eventually, who am I kidding it's there until she tells me to move it Been real hot up here and the water in the shallow bays has been reaching near 80 degrees by days end, there has not been a strong top water bite like last year, but that could change any day.
