Posts: 200 Location: Milwaukee, WI | Heading up to Mylie's next week for the first time to chase some tails. Anyone have any current info on Sabaskong in that area near Mylie's or possibly some spots to try or tips this time of year for walleye or muskie. PM would be great. Thanks...

Posts: 56 Location: Land of 10,000 Lakes | Make sure to take a paper map. Justin at Mylies will mark some spots and get you pointed in the right direction. We saw muskies close to camp but had our best luck within a 10-15 minute boat ride generally going N or NE from camp. Edited by cwestly 6/27/2018 6:16 AM

Posts: 16 | My group is also going to Morson area for the first time and noticed that Navionics chip doesn't have any HD or 1 ft. depth contours for this area. I run Gen 3's front and back. I have a good Canadian Sab. Bay map # 6214. It appears like the Navionics chip (although not having any 1ft. contours or H.D. data) that most hazards are consistent with what's on the paper map from what I have noticed. Any input is appreciated.

Posts: 16 | Lowrance Insights doesn't include Canada only US this is what I was told and the advertising I saw states US & no reference to Canada lakes. Thanks

Posts: 470 Location: Blaine, MN | It has a good amount of Sab bay, Miles, Sunset Channel, and obabikon. Even hits as far west as painted rock. May go further, but that's as far West as we go. ... goes as far east as Stevens, Stony and Sand... may even go all the way to Nestor, but that's as far East as we need to go. North to at least turtle and the Whitefish portage. I thought the same thing when I picked it up (that it doesn't cover any of LOTW) but was pointed in the right direction by an educated sales Rep. (Thanks Nelly). Edited by short STRIKE 6/28/2018 3:02 PM

Posts: 16 | Ok this is good news. I appreciate it just wondering how that works where the mapping can include some of LOTW and not be advertised as such. Probably because it's real close to MN is my guess. Anyway thanks again for the education

Posts: 229 | If you are only fishing muskies, I don't believe there is any need for 1' contours. Get the Navionics Canada/Alaska chip and you will have all that you need. Great map that covers the whole lake with MOST rocks marked. There is no map that shows all the dangerous rocks. I fish the lake several times a week and this is my go to map.

Posts: 56 Location: Land of 10,000 Lakes | Up on LOTW right now about 1/2 way (Sabaskoshing bay) between the Angle and Morson. Fishing has been tough. We've boated 4 in 3 days but the the biggest was 40. Storms on Friday AM and again last evening are not helping. Water temps 71-75 but weed growth and fish location seems behind schedule by at least a week or so. Very few Muskie fisherman around...maybe 3 other boats in 3 days Edited by cwestly 7/2/2018 11:54 PM

Posts: 56 Location: Land of 10,000 Lakes | Just got home last night. Tue-Friday was up and down with the weather. Most fish transitioning to summer spots by the end of the week. I did stick a 49" piggy Tuesday with my 6 year old in the boat which was a blast. Wed AM we got rocked by storms and Thurs and Friday we battled high blue bird skies and wind. Moved fish on gliders and 10s and some topwaters in the evening. A decent trip overall...this week could be crazy good with some stable weather. Pic coming shortly

Posts: 26 Location: Foley, Mn | I fished that area last week and we found the most action on the rocks. The bloom started last weekend which is about normal.
