I just hope BRP doesn't force most Alumacrafts to come with Evinrudes since they refuse to get on the 4-stroke train

It sounds like they're currently claiming business as usual as far as leaving outboard options the same but it wouldn't make much sense for BRP to buy them if they aren't planning on pushing Evinrude.

Either way I'm happy I bought a new Competitor 205 with the Yamaha I wanted this spring.

Your nuts if you think BRP owning Alumacraft won’t become a package deal. Try getting a Lund without a mercury, or a Skeeter without a Yamaha. Not that these are bad things but that’s what I see coming

when i bought my LUND in 2017 there was an option for HONDA'S, main and kicker pre-rigged from the factory.

The place where I used to have my Suzuki serviced, no longer carries Suzuki, as of the end of 2017. Their bread and butter boat is Lund and they only sell Mercury now. Don't know if that is everywhere, but the dealer who now does my service and took on the Suzuki dealership said that Mercury basically gave this dealership a choice, sell Lunds with Mercury motors or give up the Lund dealership.

You can still order a Lund with a Honda from the factory - I priced a Pro-V bass with a Yamaha at a local dealer and to rig that engine on the boat was an additional $1,500. Seems like you would really want to have a "non-packaged" engine to go outside their staple engines. If I'm not mistaken Skeeter is owned by Yamaha which leads me to believe Alumacraft will be running BRP engines as a package from the factory.

Our local Alumacraft dealer ( Canada ) brings his boats in without motors and rigs Yamaha's from Japan brought in through Vancouver considerably cheaper than as a package on the back of the boat. I know he has sent some to Florida for some snowbirds.

The Lund dealer by me sells Lunds without a Mercury outboard. They sell Evinrude, Yamaha, and Mercury outboards. So a buyer has a choice of these 3.

There are always a few dealers that will rig whatever you like, but yes Yamaha owns Skeeter and Lund and Mercury have a partnership so getting any other options usually cost more. Good news is, all engine manufacturers still in existence are quality, so I personally would not take issue with any brand motor on the back of my new boat
